Dear Friends,

We hope that will join us in supporting our efforts to keep our daughter’s vision alive. Charna Radbell was a vibrant and wonderful young woman as well as a successful attorney who was stricken with colon cancer in the prime of her life. In May, 2001, after an eight year struggle with cancer, Charna created this foundation as it was her profound wish to provide a Gift of Sunshine and Hope to seriously ill children, their well siblings, and their entire families. For this reason, she is our personal hero.

Throughout the years, several of our devoted and enthusiastic volunteers have organized and hosted a variety of creative, signature events to raise funds for these programs. Our deepest appreciation is extended to all of them! Without their support and dedication we would not have been able to achieve our main goal. In 2007, the foundation established a new and exciting program at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. We are greatly encouraged by the inspiring doctors and staff of this wonderful facility. We are especially grateful to Dr. Freya Schnabel, Dr. Kenneth Glassberg, Dr. Pardis and Sylvia Sparrow for being instrumental in making this new endeavor possible. The ideals of this hospital represent the core values that have shaped our work for six years.

This unique partnership is dedicated to the overall well-being of the siblings of seriously ill patients and their families, and this is especially meaningful to us as it was Charna’s dream to bring sunshine into the lives of these deserving families. Children growing up through a family crisis often become forgotten victims of their brother’s or sister’s illness. Through this new program the well sibling receives the emotional support, attention and consistency needed to help them to cope during this traumatic experience. So, it gives us great pleasure to celebrate and to announce the establishment of this new sibling program, Charna's Kids Club, at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
