Charna's Story

How often do you have a good day?

We hope every day is a good one for you and your family. Unfortunately for our daughter Charna, who passed away on June 14, 2001, a few days before her 37th birthday, her good days were few and far between. After being diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 30, her days were filled with hospitals, doctors and pain. She endured multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and numerous alternative therapies.

Charna was a vibrant woman who loved life and cherished her privacy and dignity. She never wanted to be pitied, and she would not allow cancer to take over her life. Charna was fortunate enough to have the resources to explore every option available to her.

One month before she passed away, she created this foundation. It was her profound wish to provide cancer patients with hope, comfort, services and resources they might otherwise go without. For these and other reasons, Charna is our personal hero!

Among the Foundation's achievements to date are:

  • sending children with cancer to special camps
  • providing hospice services
  • creating educational scholarships for children and young adults
  • supporting volunteer ambulance services
  • providing respite for families in need

Please help keep Charna's dream alive by making a donation in her memory to the Charna Radbell Foundation. Your contribution will help us to continue the work and the vision of this brave young woman.

We thank you in advance for your generosity.
